Samsung fans have been eagerly waiting for the Galaxy S25 Edge ever since it was first showcased in January. The phone was widely rumoured to launch later this month, but a new report suggests that the release has been delayed. It is now expected to arrive sometime between May and June.
According to ETNews from Korea, Samsung originally planned to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge on April 15. However, leadership changes within Samsung’s MX division have reportedly caused the delay.
The report mentions, “According to industry sources on the 2nd, Samsung Electronics’ MX division is discussing holding the Galaxy S25 Edge release event between May and June. The original release date was set for the 15th of this month, but internally, there was a need to reexamine the schedule.” (Translated via Google Translate)
The report also clarifies that the postponed release has nothing to do with quality issues, unlike the recent problems faced by the Pixel 9a.
Samsung has already informed three telecom carriers in its home market about the revised launch timeline. The company is expected to announce the phone’s specs, price, and release date at an online event. The delay also means that availability could be pushed further after the official unveiling.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is rumoured to feature a titanium alloy frame, similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is rumoured to sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This display will likely offer up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness and be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Moreover, the display is expected to come with a 2K resolution display.
The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB RAM and storage options of 256 GB and 512 GB. Certification listings suggest the phone will house a 3,900mAh battery with 25W charging support.
Rumours have also suggested that the phone can house a 200MP main camera, accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide lens.
As for pricing, the Galaxy S25 Edge is tipped to launch between EUR 1,200 (Rs 1,13,660 approx.) and EUR 1,300 (Rs 1,23,132 approx.).
