Samsung has officially sent out invitations for its upcoming Unpacked event, where we will witness the unveiling of the Galaxy S24 series, among other things.
Scheduled for January 17th, 2024, in San Jose, California, this event marks a significant departure from the company’s traditional venues in San Francisco or South Korea.
Notably, this is one of the earliest announcements for the Galaxy S series in recent history, as MWC or around the first week of February is when the company usually holds its events.
The event, slated to start at 10:00 AM PT (10:30 PM IST), is strategically timed to cater to a global audience, including Indian fans who will experience a night event for the Galaxy S series launch for the first time in several years.
The invitation itself is a nod to technological advancement, hinting at the debut of a new AI feature with the tagline “Galaxy AI is Coming.”
This suggests a significant leap in AI capabilities, potentially revolutionizing Samsung’s existing Bixby framework and offering a glimpse into the future of smartphone intelligence.
As the tech world buzzes with anticipation, several details about the Galaxy S24 series have surfaced:
Despite these advancements, Samsung appears to be holding off on integrating satellite communication capabilities into the Galaxy S24 series, a feature now common in Apple and Huawei models.
This might be a strategic choice, reserving such a significant addition for future models like the Galaxy S25.
Apart from just the phones, Samsung is also expected to reveal its new Galaxy Watch 7 Series, new Galaxy Buds, and perhaps some a new Galaxy Tab.
We will have to wait for the event to unfold to know more.
What we do know from leaks is that pre-orders for the new Galaxy smartphones are to begin on 31st January.
