According to tipster Abhishek Yadav@yabhishekhd on X, the price revision will impact most models in Samsung’s popular midrange lineup. As per the tip, Samsung India plans to increase the prices of most Galaxy A-series smartphones by ₹1,000. The Galaxy A56, however, is expected to see a steeper hike with its price going up by ₹2,000.
Interestingly, this price hike is coming just ahead of Samsung’s anticipated Galaxy A-series launches next month, which are expected to include the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. Typically, price adjustments around launch timelines are used to make older models more attractive, but this time Samsung appears to be moving in the opposite direction.
Why Samsung Is Increasing Prices?
According to multiple reports, the key factor driving the price hike is rising memory costs. The global semiconductor industry is currently facing a memory shortage, primarily due to increased demand for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and DDR5 DRAM used extensively in AI data centres. As major technology companies continue to invest heavily in AI infrastructure, smartphone manufacturers are being forced to compete for the same memory components at significantly higher prices.
This trend has already impacted flagship smartphones. Recent launches such as the OnePlus 15, Vivo X300, and iQOO 15 debuted with noticeably higher prices compared to their predecessors. Among these, the iQOO 15 recorded the sharpest increase with prices jumping by as much as 33%.
What’s notable now is that these rising component costs are no longer limited to premium devices. The pressure is beginning to affect midrange smartphones as well.
