Samsung has officially announced its latest Exynos Modem 5410, which brings advanced satellite communication capabilities to its mobile platform lineup. The newly introduced modem supports multiple satellite network technologies and is expected to play a key role in Samsung’s next-generation flagship smartphones.

Samsung Exynos Modem 5410 – Key Details

The Exynos Modem 5410 supports three different satellite communication standards i.e. LTE DTC, NB-IoT NTN, and NR-NTN. LTE DTC expands satellite connectivity by enabling voice calls, while NB-IoT NTN allows basic functions such as location sharing and simple text messaging via satellites orbiting the Earth.

Meanwhile, NR-NTN is designed for higher-quality satellite communication including use cases like video calls.

Built on a 4nm manufacturing process, the modem offers improved power efficiency and reduced standby power consumption compared to its predecessor. It supports 5G NR dual connectivity, simultaneously utilising FR1 (sub-6GHz) and FR2 (mmWave) bands to deliver peak download speeds of up to 14.79Gbps. When operating solely on the FR1 band, the modem can aggregate up to 380MHz of bandwidth, achieving data transfer speeds of up to 11.2Gbps.

On the security front, the Exynos Modem 5410 includes support for ROM-based Hybrid PQC to ensure secure and reliable communications. A dedicated Security Processor encrypts sensitive Secure NV data such as IMEI information and safeguards authentication keys and cryptographic assets.

According to Samsung, these features are designed to meet the reliability demands of the 5G Advanced era. The modem has already entered mass production.

Possible Use in Galaxy S26 Series

Looking ahead, reports suggest that Samsung could pair the Exynos Modem 5410 with its Exynos 2600 chipset in the Galaxy S26 series. As the Exynos 2600 is said to lack an integrated 5G modem, Samsung is expected to rely on an external solution for network connectivity.

If implemented, this setup could significantly enhance overall connectivity performance for future Galaxy S26 smartphones.
