Redmi appears to be preparing to expand its smartphone portfolio with a brand-new ‘R-series’. The company may soon introduce Redmi R70 and Redmi R70m, both of which have now surfaced on the China Telecom website. This is the first time a Redmi R-series smartphone has been spotted online. According to reports, the China Telecom listing shows two different names for the same device. So, it is believed that the smartphone could launch as the Redmi R70 in some regions and as the Redmi R70m in others.

The device is expected to be powered by the Unisoc UMS9632 processor, which can clock speeds of up to 2.2GHz. This chipset is specifically designed for affordable 5G smartphones indicating that the Redmi R70 / R70m will likely be positioned as a budget-friendly 5G offering.
In terms of memory and storage, the listing reveals five variants. The base model comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage.
