Redmi is back in the tablet game long after the original Redmi Pad came out in 2022. The brand is gearing up to launch the Redmi Pad 2 globally on June 5. Ahead of the launch, Redmi has started teasing the device on social media and revealing key specs and features.
The Redmi Pad 2 comes with an 11-inch 2.5K IPS LCD screen that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. While it’s more compact than the Redmi Pad Pro, Xiaomi is clearly pushing this as a tablet made for media consumption.

It’s being promoted as a “binge buddy”, and to live up to that, the device packs quad speakers with Dolby Atmos certification. So, whether you’re streaming shows or playing games, sound should be loud and immersive.

According to European listings –
The tablet will come in Mint Green and Black/Grey colours. It has a 9,000mAh battery that supports 18W wired charging, but keep in mind that European units won’t include a charger in the box.
For cameras, the Redmi Pad 2 features an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, good enough for video calls or casual photos.
A recent unboxing by Brazilian YouTube channel TukEmperial revealed some more details. The Redmi Pad 2 runs on Android 15 with HyperOS and supports Circle to Search. It also comes with a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Benchmark scores from the same leak show an AnTuTu score of around 400,000, and the tablet handles games like Asphalt 9 and Call of Duty smoothly.
Xiaomi has also confirmed the India launch, using the tagline “Built For More.”
An Amazon India listing highlights its lightweight build, long battery life, and display fit for both productivity and entertainment. Both the Wi-Fi-only and 4G + Wi-Fi variants have been BIS-certified, hinting at an imminent India release.
