Redmi has officially confirmed the launch date of the Redmi K90 Max in China. The Redmi K90 Max will join the existing Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max introduced in China in October last year. While the company has not yet officially confirmed the chipset, an early Geekbench listing has already hinted at the processor powering the device. Here’s more on every new detail that has surfaced about the smartphone.
The Redmi K90 Max is scheduled to launch in China on April 21 with the event set to begin at 7:00pm local time (4:30pm IST).
Ahead of the launch, Redmi has opened pre-reservations for the device through its official website in China. Customers who choose to pre-book the smartphone can avail a trade-in discount of up to CNY 1,200 (approximately Rs. 12,000) by exchanging their old devices.
A new Geekbench listing has revealed details about an upcoming Redmi smartphone. While name is not mentioned, model number 2604FRK1EC is believed to be the Redmi K90 Max.
According to the listing, the device is powered by a MediaTek processor featuring a prime core clocked at 4.21GHz along with three performance cores running at 3.50GHz and four efficiency cores operating at 2.70GHz. For graphics, it includes the Mali-G1-Ultra MC12 GPU. According to reports, these specifications strongly indicate that the handset could be equipped with the Dimensity 9500 chipset. It is widely expected to be MediaTek’s most powerful processor to date.
The listing also reveals that the smartphone is paired with 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 16. In benchmarking tests, the device scored 3513 points in the single-core test and 10,711 points in the multi-core test.
Redmi has confirmed that the K90 Max will be offered in a Space Silver colour option. Teaser images shared on Weibo suggest that the smartphone is designed with gaming in mind featuring a dual-core air cooling system for improved thermal management.

The Redmi K90 Max will sport a large 6.83-inch M10 display with a 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3500 nits. The company claims that the display will support 160fps performance across more than 40 games. It is also teased to deliver a 3500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate along with a 480Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate enhancing responsiveness for gaming.
For audio, the handset is equipped with a symmetrical stereo dual speaker setup measuring 1115x co-tuned by Bose for an improved sound experience.
Previously, Redmi confirmed that the K90 Max will feature an IP66, IP68 and IP69-rated build ensuring strong resistance against dust and water.
Lastly, the smartphone is rumoured to pack a battery exceeding 8000mAh and support 100W wired fast charging. If true, this would make it a powerful smartphone option for heavy users and gamers alike.
