Redmi K100 Pro Series May Debut Before Standard K100

Highlights

  • Leak suggests Xiaomi may debut the Redmi K100 Pro series before the standard K100.
  • Standard K100 tipped with a 6.59-inch display, while Pro Max may feature a 6.9-inch 185Hz screen, Snapdragon 8-series chip, up to 9,000mAh battery, and HyperOS.
  • Two Redmi phones are certified with 100W fast charging, while Pro Max expected to include dual speakers.

Xiaomi may be preparing a different launch strategy for its next-generation Redmi K100 series. A fresh leak suggests the company could unveil the Redmi K100 Pro lineup before introducing the standard Redmi K100. If true, this would mark a shift from earlier reports that claimed the base model would arrive first. The latest information comes from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, who also points to recent certification activity as an indication that Redmi may have revised its rollout plans. Here’s more on what we know.

Redmi K100 Pro Series Tipped to Launch First

According to the tipster, Xiaomi has reportedly changed the launch order for the Redmi K100 family. Instead of debuting the standard Redmi K100 first, the company is now expected to introduce the Redmi K100 Pro series ahead of the vanilla model.

One reason behind this speculation is that the standard Redmi K100 has not yet appeared on the required certification platforms unlike other upcoming Redmi smartphones. This has led to reports that Xiaomi may have adjusted its product roadmap before launch.

Display, Chipset and Battery Details Leaked

The Redmi K100 series is expected to continue Xiaomi’s strategy of offering two differently sized flagship smartphones. As per current leaks, the standard Redmi K100 could feature a 6.59-inch display, while the Redmi K100 Pro Max is tipped to sport a larger 6.9-inch screen. The Pro Max model is also expected to support a refresh rate of up to 185Hz.

Both smartphones are rumoured to be powered by a Snapdragon 8-series processor and could pack batteries with capacities of up to 9,000mAh. The devices are also expected to ship with Xiaomi’s next-generation HyperOS software out of the box.

Two Redmi Phones Receive 3C Certification

Meanwhile, two new Redmi smartphones have recently been certified by China’s 3C authority. One of the devices carries the model number M098FF, while the other bears the model number M511CD.

According to the certification listings, both smartphones support 100W fast charging using Xiaomi’s MDY-18-EW charging adapter. The two devices have also reportedly received approval from China’s MIIT certification authority.

However, based on Digital Chat Station’s latest claims, neither of these certified models is believed to be the standard Redmi K100.

Although the identities of the two newly certified Redmi smartphones have not been officially confirmed, one of them is expected to be the Redmi K100 Pro Max.

The Pro Max variant is also tipped to feature a symmetrical dual-speaker system with Xiaomi reportedly focusing on delivering an improved audio experience for gaming and multimedia.

While Xiaomi has not officially announced the Redmi K100 series, the latest leaks suggest the company may introduce its Pro models first with the standard Redmi K100 expected to follow at a later stage.

More details are likely to emerge as additional certifications and official teasers begin to appear.
