The tablet is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset, which is expected to bring a noticeable jump in performance compared to the previous generation. To handle sustained performance, Redmi is reportedly including a large 15,300mm² vapor chamber cooling system. The tablet also adopts a centred chip layout designed to improve heat distribution during extended gaming sessions.
Benchmark and real-world performance tests for the Redmi K Pad 2 have recently surfaced via WHYLAB. It offers insight into its thermal efficiency and gaming capabilities.
After one hour of gameplay across titles like CrossFire, Call of Duty and Peacekeeper Elite running at 165fps, the tablet’s rear temperature peaked at 42.6°C. While warm, it remained within comfortable limits and frame rates stayed stable throughout the test.
In less demanding Honor of Kings, the device delivered an almost perfect average of 119.99fps with just 5.4W power consumption and a back temperature of 37°C indicating excellent efficiency for a flagship chipset.
For more demanding games, Genshin Impact running at 1080p averaged 59.94fps with a power draw of 6.6W and temperatures around 40°C. Honkai: Star Rail maintained 59.8fps over 30 minutes with a peak temperature of 43.1°C. Meanwhile, Zenless Zone Zero known for its heavy CPU usage averaged 59.32fps at 7.9W.
