Xiaomi has expanded its budget smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi A7 Pro 5G. It is aimed at buyers looking for an affordable 5G device and brings a large battery, smooth display and long-term software support. Here’s everything you need to know about the new phone.

Redmi A7 Pro 5G – Price and Availability

The Redmi A7 Pro 5G will go on sale starting April 15 via Amazon and Xiaomi’s official online store. It will be available in multiple colour options including Black, Mist Blue and Sunset Orange.

As for pricing, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G is priced at ₹12,499 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs ₹13,499. As part of the launch offer, the company is offering a discount of ₹1,000, bringing the effective starting price down to ₹11,499.

In terms of design, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G comes with an IP52-rated body for basic dust and water resistance. The phone weighs 210 grams and has a thickness of 8.15mm. It also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack catering to users who prefer wired audio options.

A7 Pro 5G features a large 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Despite offering a resolution of 720p, the large screen size is expected to deliver an immersive viewing experience for videos and everyday use.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Unisoc T8300 octa-core processor built on a 6nm process, with clock speeds going up to 2.2GHz. The chipset is paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

One of the standout highlights is the software support as the device is promised to receive four OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

For photography, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G sports a 32MP primary rear camera along with an additional auxiliary lens. On the front, it features an 8MP selfie camera. The camera setup is expected to deliver a basic photography experience in line with its budget positioning.

The smartphone packs a large 6,300mAh battery, matching the capacity seen on devices like the Realme P4 Lite 4G. According to the company, the battery is designed to maintain good health even after four years of usage. The device supports 15W wired charging and also offers 7W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge accessories like TWS earbuds.

On the software front, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. It includes features such as HyperIsland, which displays real-time information from apps like timers and music in a pill-shaped interface alongwith Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
