Xiaomi has started the sale of its latest budget 5G smartphone, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G, in India. This affordable 5G smartphone brings a large battery, high refresh rate display and AI-powered features at an aggressive price point. The handset is now available via online and offline channels alongwith a limited-period discount offer. Here are all the details.
The Redmi A7 Pro 5G has been introduced in two variants with 4GB RAM, which is paired with either 64GB or 128GB storage. The 4GB + 64GB model is priced at ₹12,499, while the 4GB + 128GB variant costs ₹13,499.
As part of the launch offer, Xiaomi is providing an instant discount of ₹1,000 on both variants. With this offer applied, the base model can be purchased at an effective price of ₹11,499, while the 128GB variant is available for ₹12,499. This essentially allows buyers to get the higher storage model at the price of the lower variant.
The device is currently available on Amazon and at retail mobile stores across India. It comes in three colour options that includes Black, Mist Blue and Sunset Orange.
The Redmi A7 Pro 5G features a 6.9-inch HD LCD with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels. It comes with a waterdrop notch design and supports a 120Hz refresh rate along with up to 800 nits peak brightness. The display is also certified for Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free usage helping reduce eye strain during extended use.
The smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T8300 octa-core processor built on a 6nm process with clock speeds ranging between 2.0GHz and 2.2GHz. It is paired with a Mali-G57 GPU for handling graphics. The device uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage and also supports virtual RAM expansion effectively increasing the total RAM to 8GB by adding 4GB virtual RAM to the existing 4GB physical RAM.
Running on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, the Redmi A7 Pro 5G comes with a promise of 4 generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. It also includes AI-powered features such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
One of the standout features of the Redmi A7 Pro 5G is its large 6300mAh battery with Xiaomi claiming a battery health lifespan of up to four years. The device supports 15W fast charging and also includes 7.5W wired reverse charging allowing users to charge other devices.
For photography, the smartphone offers a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash alongwith a secondary AI lens. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture for video calls and selfies.
Additional features include an IP52 rating for basic water and dust resistance and OTG support to make it a practical choice in the budget 5G segment.
