Xiaomi is expanding its Redmi series with the addition of the Redmi A3, a device that has been making rounds in the rumour mill.
Recently, this upcoming smartphone made an appearance on the NBTC database in Thailand, shedding light on some of its features and confirming its existence.
However, there is no word as of yet on its possible launch in the Indian market.
Coming to the handset’s potential in the Indonesian market, however, the Redmi A3, carrying the model number 23129RN51X, first came into the spotlight through certifications from IMDA and EEC.
However, it was the NBTC certification that officially confirmed the ‘Redmi A3’ moniker.
The certification details reveal that the Redmi A3 will support standard GSM, WCDMA, and LTE connectivity options.
Additionally, the device is equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities, suggesting a focus on essential wireless connectivity.
While the certifications have confirmed the name and some basic connectivity features of the Redmi A3, other specifics like design and technical specifications remain under wraps.
Given that it is an A series device though, we can expect run-of-the-mill budget specs to be packed underneath the hood.
There’s also a chance that this might be a more entry-level offering.
One thing is for certain, the increasing frequency of the Redmi A3’s appearances on various certification websites indicates that more detailed information might be released soon.
In more recent Redmi news closer to home, Xiaomi India is set to launch the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ on January 4th, 2024.
The anticipation for this device has been building, with various teasers and leaks appearing across multiple platforms.
Adding to the excitement, Xiaomi has started revealing features of the phone on its X account, with the most notable announcement being its IP68 certification.
The Redmi Note 13 series, which is already available in China, is expected to maintain similar specifications for its Indian variant.
Xiaomi’s pricing strategy appears aggressive and competitive, with the standard Redmi Note 13 model likely priced around Rs 14,000, the Pro variant around Rs 18,000, and the anticipated starting price for the Pro+ model around Rs 22,000.
This pricing is particularly notable for a phone with such a high IP rating, a rarity in this segment.
