According to the shared Geekbench database screenshots, the Redmi 17C 5G carries the codename “tornado.” Interestingly, this is the same codename used for the Redmi 15C 5G and the POCO C85 5G, both of which are already available in several international markets.
Xiaomi also offers a 4G variant of the Redmi 15C, suggesting that the brand is continuing its strategy of repackaging similar hardware across different models in its budget smartphone portfolio.
The Geekbench listing reveals that the Redmi 17C 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. Xiaomi has already used this chipset in several of its affordable 5G smartphones this year. While the processor is not aimed at intensive gaming, it is expected to deliver reliable day-to-day performance along with efficient power consumption.
According to Geekbench listing, it’s #REDMI17C5G with codename tornado. tornado was Redmi 15C 5G and POCO C85 5G, so looks like another rebrand of old device, but so far can’t find more info about differences (if any). https://t.co/9iX2YJPf0N pic.twitter.com/ytoZGJtGWx
