Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 15 5G in Malaysia, bringing a feature-rich mid-range smartphone with standout specs. The Redmi 15 5G is priced at MYR 729 (approximately $170) for the lone 8GB + 256GB variant. It will be available in three colour options, Ripple Green, Titan Grey and Midnight Black, through Xiaomi’s official website and offline retail stores.
The phone is also confirmed to launch in India on August 18.
The Redmi 15 5G sports a large 6.9-inch Full HD+ display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate and a 288Hz touch sampling rate. It also supports Xiaomi’s Wet Touch Technology 2.0, which enhances usability even when fingers are wet.
Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. Backing it is a massive 7,000mAh battery, Xiaomi’s largest ever in a global smartphone. The phone supports 33W fast charging as well as 18W reverse charging for powering other devices.
It runs on HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15 and comes with AI-powered features like Circle to Search, AI Eraser, AI Sky, and Dynamic Shots. On the back, it features a dual-camera setup led by a 50MP primary sensor and an additional auxiliary lens. The front houses an 8MP selfie camera.
For security, the Redmi 15 5G includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Other features include IP64 dust and water resistance, support for microSD cards up to 2TB and virtual RAM expansion up to 16GB. The phone also delivers enhanced audio quality with Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos support.
