Realme has confirmed that the Realme Neo 8 will launch in China soon as the successor to the Realme Neo 7. Ahead of its official debut, the company has started teasing key details of the upcoming smartphone on social media including its colour options and design elements. Here’s everything we know so far.
In a post on Weibo, Realme announced that the Realme Neo 8 will be available in Cyber Purple, Mecha Gray, and Origin White. According to the company, Cyber Purple is described as a “flash fantasy” that represents a trendy play arena, while Mecha Gray is said to be “steady and deep”. The Origin White variant is claimed to be “truly flawless”.
All three colour options share the same transparent RGB design with orange-accented VOOC branding. The phone features a see-through rear panel that reveals parts of its internal design. Realme’s signature Awakening Halo lighting is positioned next to the camera module, while “HYPERIMAGE+” branding is embossed on the camera island.
An NFC label on the rear panel also points to NFC support.
Realme has already confirmed that the Neo 8 will come with a 165Hz Samsung M14 OLED display. The panel is said to use Samsung Display’s latest technology and luminescent materials, which are claimed to reduce power consumption and extend panel lifespan.
The smartphone is also teased to feature an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint sensor along with Crystal Armor Glass for improved scratch and drop resistance. For better handling, the device will feature large R-angle corners.
Under the hood, the Realme Neo 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The company claims the device has achieved an AnTuTu score of over 3.58 million. On the camera front, the smartphone is confirmed to feature a triple rear camera setup with one sensor supporting up to 120x zoom, which is believed to be enabled by a periscope telephoto lens.
The Realme Neo 8 has also been spotted on China’s TENAA certification website with the model number RMX8899. The listing suggests that the phone could pack an 8,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.
It may feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and a triple rear camera system, aligning with details already teased by the company. The TENAA entry also reiterates the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
More official information is expected to surface as the Realme Neo 8’s China launch approaches, which is scheduled for January 22.
