Realme has officially unveiled Realme 16 5G in India today as the latest addition to the Realme 16 series. The company has been teasing the mid-range smartphone for weeks now via official social media handles and dedicated microsites. Apart from large battery capacity and strong everyday performance, the smartphone stands out for its unique “selfie mirror” feature that the brand has been promoting as “India’s first Selfie Mirror Phone.” Here are more details of this newly launched device that you should know about.

Realme 16 5G price in India starts at ₹31,999 for the base variant of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Apart from this, the phone is also available in an 8GB RAM + 256 GB storage combination that costs ₹33,999 and a high-end 12GB RAM and 256GB storage priced at ₹36,999.

As a part of launch offers, Realme is selling the Realme 16 5G with no cost EMI options for up to 12 months. Buyers can also avail a Rs. 2,000 bank-based discount or a Rs. 6,000 exchange bonus. This will bring the effective starting price to ₹28,999 post offers.

It is currently available to preorder via Flipkart and Realme’s online store and will go on sale starting April 5.

Realme 16 5G – Key Features

Realme has positioned the Realme 16 5G as “India’s first Selfie Mirror Phone” with “Segments Only Dual 50MP Portraits” sensors. The integrated mirror within the rear camera module is being marketed as a selfie mirror that allows users to preview their shots in real time using the main rear cameras. It enables better composition for selfies and group photos.

According to the promotional videos shared by the company ahead of the launch, capturing shots on the phone involves three simple steps. Users will have to twist the phone, frame the shot using the rear camera and then capture wider portraits with better accuracy.

The phone features a pill-shaped horizontal camera bar on the back that is finished with glass. Realme has confirmed that the device will come with dual 50MP portrait cameras including a 50MP Sony IMX852 rear sensor paired with a 50MP front camera.

For the display, the Realme 16 5G will sport a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a peak refresh rate of 120Hz. The display specs include 4200nits peak brightness, 2160Hz PWM dimming, 1.07 Billion colors and 3000Hz instantaneous sample rate. It also carries an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance.

It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 internal storage. It ship with Android 16 out of the box layered with Realme UI 7.0. The phone also include a vapour chamber cooling system with a 6,050 sq mm heat dissipation area for thermal management. The company has also promised long-term software support with three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates.

The device packs a 7,000mAh battery that supports 60W fast charging. Realme claims the battery can easily last up to two days on a single charge and has promised up to six years of battery health maintenance.

The smartphone measures 8.1 mm in thickness and weighs just 183 grams.
