Qualcomm has officially launched the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a new 4nm mobile platform in its 7-series lineup. According to Qualcomm, this new chip offers a better overall user experience with faster performance, improved gaming and advanced Gen AI capabilities. It’s also the first 7-series chip to bring several premium features previously seen only in the flagship 8-series. Here’s what we know.

Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 delivers up to 27% better CPU performance, 30% faster graphics and 65% improved AI processing compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
The CPU uses a Kyro architecture, featuring –
- 1 Prime core clocked at 2.8GHz
- 4 Performance cores up to 2.4GHz
- 3 Efficiency cores reaching 1.8GHz
It supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and various storage types including UFS 4.0, 3.1, and 2.0.
For smoother performance during heavy tasks like gaming, the chip includes –
- Qualcomm Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0, which intelligently allocates resources
- Snapdragon Adaptive Game Configuration, which fine-tunes CPU and GPU usage on the fly
- Snapdragon Game Super Resolution and Game Quick Touch for enhanced gameplay responsiveness

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 – Built-in AI and Gen AI Capabilities
The chip features a Hexagon NPU powered by the Qualcomm AI Engine, enabling on-device Gen AI features like image generation with Stable Diffusion 1.5.
It also supports large language models (LLMs) for real-time translation, smarter voice assistants and more.
AI features are now baked directly into the hardware for the first time in a 7-series chip. This allows for real-time video upscaling, AI-powered auto focus, auto white balance, auto exposure and even hardware-based electronic image stabilization, all major upgrades for mobile photography and video.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 – Camera and Display Support
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 comes with a Qualcomm Spectra triple 12-bit ISP, supporting up to 200MP photo capture.
For displays, it supports –
- WQHD+ resolution with up to 144Hz refresh rate
- External displays up to 4K at 60Hz
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 – Audio, Connectivity, and Charging
This chipset includes premium audio features like aptX Voice, aptX Lossless, and aptX Adaptive.
It’s also the first non-8-series chip to support Qualcomm Expanded Personal Area Network (XPAN) technology.
