Qualcomm has officially announced a launch event on April 2 teasing the arrival of a major product. While the company hasn’t confirmed the name, reports strongly suggest that it will unveil the Snapdragon 8s Elite or Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. Here’s what we know so far.

The new chipset is expected to be built on TSMC’s 4nm process and will feature an all-big-core CPU architecture for high performance. The CPU setup includes:
For graphics, the Adreno 825 GPU will power the chipset offering a slightly toned-down version of the Adreno 830 found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Moreover, it will feature 6MB of system-level cache (SLC) and 8MB of L3 cache to improve efficiency.
Benchmark leaks suggest the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 will score over 2 million points on AnTuTu, placing its performance between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
While Qualcomm hasn’t shared specifics on AI performance, we can expect some improvements when it comes to on-device AI processing for tasks like image recognition, voice commands and real-time language translation. Moreover, camera enhancements through Qualcomm’s industry-leading image signal processors (ISPs) delivering better computational photography are also expected.
While it won’t match the premium Snapdragon 8 Elite, it should still offer solid AI and camera improvements.
Several brands are set to launch Snapdragon 8s Gen 4-powered smartphones starting in April. The first set of phones expected to include Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro, Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro and Oppo K13 Pro.
Among them, the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro is expected to be the first device to launch with the new chipset.
In international markets, the Poco F7 might be the first phone with this chip, likely as a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro is expected to launch in India as the Xiaomi 15 Civi.
With this new chipset, Qualcomm is bringing flagship-like performance at a more affordable price point, making the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 one to watch.
