Following the launch of the Redmi Note 17 series in China, attention has now shifted to the global versions of the lineup. The series is expected to arrive in international markets in the coming weeks with a few specification changes. Meanwhile, some of the models could also debut under the Poco branding. A fresh leak has now revealed key details about the upcoming Poco M8 Power and the global Redmi Note 17 series.
Poco M8 Power and Global Redmi Note 17 – Key Details Leaked
According to tipster Kacper Skrzypek @kacskrz on X, an upcoming Poco smartphone carrying the model number 2602IPC8I is expected to launch in India as the Poco M8 Power. The tipster reportedly discovered the information by examining HyperOS code. Notably, the device had previously appeared on the BIS certification platform in May.
The latest leak also mentions that the handset will have a Redmi-branded counterpart for the Indian market with the model number 26021RN18I.
The tipster further claims that the Poco M8 Power will essentially be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 currently available in China. Interestingly, the leak suggests that this Poco model may remain exclusive to the Indian market and may not receive a wider global release.

The Redmi Note 17 for global and Indian markets is expected to offer specifications similar to the Chinese version with battery capacity being one of the key differences. The Indian model is tipped to retain the same 8,000mAh battery found on the Chinese variant, while the global version is said to arrive with a slightly smaller 7,700mAh battery.
The leak also sheds light on the Redmi Note 17 Pro’s global variant. It is expected to feature an 8,340mAh battery, whereas the Chinese version packs a larger 9,000mAh battery. The Indian Redmi Note 17 Pro is reportedly expected to retain the same 9,000mAh battery as its Chinese counterpart.
Poco M8 Power, Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro Specifications
Based on recent reports, the Poco M8 Power and the Redmi Note 17 for global and Indian markets are expected to feature a 7-inch Samsung AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness.
The smartphones are also tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset and offer a 50-megapixel primary rear camera. Other expected features include 45W fast charging support and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
Meanwhile, the global and Indian variants of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G are expected to sport a 6.83-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and up to 3,500 nits of brightness. The handset is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor and feature a 50-megapixel primary camera. It is also expected to support 67W fast charging along with 22.5W reverse wired charging.
