The phone, which was debuted as a successor to the Redmi 10C, is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC.
The smartphone by Redmi, available in three storage variants, was also expected to launch it global variant soon.
A tweet from the Poco India (@IndiaPOCO) handle read “Hold on to your seat, POCO C55 is coming soon,” followed by a short seven-second video.
Reliable tipster Kacper Skrzypek (@kacskrz) suggested in a tweet quoting the post, that the upcoming Poco C55 device will be a rebranded Redmi 12C.
Poco C55 was previously spotted in an IMDA listing and Skrzypek had claimed that the phone would be a rebrand of the Redmi 12C.

POCO India’s Twitter handle has started teasing a new phone, which is claimed to deliver “Speed and swag.” The handset in question is the POCO C55.
The short video clip posted on Twitter just has the marketing name but nothing about the design. Like the other C-series models, we can speculate the POCO C55 will be a budget offering.
Coincidentally, noted leakster Yogesh Brar has shared a live image of a POCO phone on Twitter.
Yogesh Brar has posted a live image of the upcoming POCO C55 which showcases the back panel and the camera layout of the device. The camera layout and the fingerprint scanner position, as you would guess, appear to be exactly same as that of the Redmi 12C.
While the leakster hasn’t mentioned anything about the phone’s hardware specifications or the marketing name, we believe it could be the POCO C55.
The handset has a faux leather finish on the back panel and a large Black camera island, which houses dual cameras, LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for security.
The live image of the upcoming POCO C55 reveal a dual-rear camera setup, an LED flash, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, enclosed inside a huge module. This black coloured module also showcases POCO branding in huge font. The back panel appears to have a leather texture.
