Paytm has introduced a new feature called Paytm Postpaid on UPI to give users the ability to shop, pay bills, or recharge instantly and settle the payment the following month. The service has been launched in collaboration with Suryoday Small Finance Bank and is supported by NPCI, effectively bringing a short-term credit line directly to UPI transactions. Here’s everything you need to know about this.
With this new feature, users don’t need to pay immediately during every transaction. Whether it’s scanning a QR code at a local shop, shopping online, paying household bills, or recharging a mobile phone, the process works just like any other UPI payment.
The difference is that instead of money being debited instantly, Paytm offers up to 30 days of interest-free credit. This allows users to make purchases throughout the month and repay the entire amount in the next billing cycle.
Currently, Paytm Postpaid on UPI is being rolled out in phases. A selected group of users chosen based on their spending patterns will get early access. The company plans to expand availability to more users gradually.
If you are eligible, activating the service is simple. Just follow the below-mentioned steps –
Once completed, your Postpaid credit line will be ready to use across all UPI merchants.
Managing expenses can often get difficult, especially at the end of the month. Paytm Postpaid on UPI adds extra flexibility, letting users continue to rely on the familiar UPI process while enjoying the convenience of pay-later transactions.
“In India, families and individuals often look for a little extra flexibility to manage their everyday expenses with ease. We are delighted to bring Paytm Postpaid, Credit Line on UPI, which makes it possible to spend instantly and comfortably repay the next month. Whether it’s paying at a local store, managing household bills, or shopping online, this solution is designed to make life simpler. In partnership with Suryoday Small Finance Bank and powered by NPCI, this launch reflects our commitment to offering secure, compliant, and innovative payment solutions that truly put consumers first,” said Avijit Jain, Chief Operating Officer – Lending at Paytm.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to expanding access to secure and responsible credit.
