According to a recent Bloomberg report, this new capability will allow AirPods to translate real-time conversations between different languages, making communication easier for users.

Live Translation Coming to AirPods with iOS 19

Bloomberg’s trusted Apple reporter Mark Gurman, citing sources familiar with the matter, recently reported that AirPods will be able to translate a live “in-person conversation” from one language to another. This feature will roll out later this year as part of the iOS 19 update and will work with current AirPods models.

For example, if an English-speaking user is listening to someone speaking in another language, the AirPods’ microphones will pick up the speech, and the iPhone will automatically translate it.

The iPhone will also translate English speech into the other language in real time, enabling smooth back-and-forth communication.
