Oppo Developing 68MP 1:1 Selfie Camera
According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Oppo is developing another 68-megapixel 1:1 square front camera. The tipster has not revealed the exact smartphone that will use this sensor. However, the camera is reportedly being considered for a slim, camera-focused smartphone that is expected to launch next year. The specific model or even the brand has not been disclosed.
A 1:1 selfie camera offers greater flexibility when taking photos and allows users to capture portrait or landscape-oriented selfies without having to rotate the phone.
Notably, Apple already offers this technology on the iPhone 17 series. And if reports are true, Oppo’s Find X10 Ultra could be among the brand’s first smartphones to adopt this new tech.
