Oppo releases official version of ColorOS 12

After receiving the beta version of the ColorOS12 update based on Android 12 in April, the smartphone maker has started rolling out the official ColorOS 12 update for Oppo F17 and Oppo A73.

According to the company, those interested need to submit their application for the ColorOS 12 update.

“Hello, Super Fans! The first batch of F17 Android 12 x ColorOS 12 Official Version kicks off. If you want to try the Official version, please submit your application,” reads a community post by Oppo.

How to apply

Users need to follow these steps to get the official version of ColorOS 12. Click on setting and select software update.  You need to detect the ColorOS 12 version and update.

To avoid data loss caused by incompatibility or other unforeseen circumstances, users are advised to backup important data on the phone before updating.

After updating to the latest version, the operating system will do several actions to optimize your device automatically. It might lead to your device heating, lagging, and fast battery draining. It is recommended to turn off the screen and charge the device for a whole night after it gets updated successfully. You can keep using the device and it will become normal within a few days.

You must keep in mind that some third-party applications are not compatible with Android 12. Therefore, users may face technical issues including lagging and crashing down on their device after updating these applications.

The much-talked-about Android 12-based ColorOS 12 Beta Version continues to be available on more Oppo smartphones in India.

According to the company, Oppo users will be able to experience ColorOS’ highly customizable UI and features. The features are UI customizations, three-finger translation, FlexDrop, Private System and other enhanced security features.
