OnePlus, the global technology brand, and Reliance Jio, India’s largest digital services player, have announced the successful joint validation of 5G network slicing efforts.
This achievement is part of their newly launched 5G innovation lab in India.
During the demonstration, OnePlus and Reliance Jio connected the core network and chip module on the OnePlus Nord 4 and completed the 5G network slicing tests.
The new OnePlus Nord 4 with network slicing technology showed how different applications can access dedicated network slices for an enhanced 5G experience.
Ramagopala Reddy, VP at OnePlus India, expressed excitement about the collaboration, calling it a significant milestone.
He emphasized that this successful 5G solution is a benchmark for practical 5G network slicing deployment and will guide global network operators.
5G network slicing allows for creating virtual networks with different features like speed, bandwidth, security, and reliability based on user needs, offering more flexibility and efficiency.
Both companies are preparing for commercial deployment in the coming months and will continue to drive innovative R&D solutions while working with global stakeholders to promote 5G network slicing and provide secure, reliable, and flexible 5G services across India.
The OnePlus Nord 4 comes packaged in the brand’s signature red box, maintaining the excitement that OnePlus has cultivated over the years.
Upon opening, you’re greeted with:
The inclusion of the 100W charger is particularly noteworthy, as many manufacturers have started omitting chargers from their retail packages.
This addition ensures that users can immediately take advantage of the phone’s fast-charging capabilities out of the box.
The standout feature of the Nord 4 is undoubtedly its unibody metal construction.
This design choice harks back to the OnePlus 5 series from 2017, making the Nord 4 the first all-metal unibody phone from OnePlus in the 5G era.
The result is a device that not only looks premium but also feels substantial and durable in hand.
OnePlus offers two other color options:
Obsidian Midnight: A classic brushed gunmetal design for those preferring a more understated look.
Oasis Green: A eye-catching two-tone color scheme that pays homage to classic Nord designs.
