OnePlus has officially unveiled its advanced gaming technology suite, OP Gaming Core. It is designed to enhance mobile gaming performance on its OnePlus 15 series. The new system promises major improvements in frame rate stability, responsiveness, and thermal efficiency by combining chip-level optimisations with software and hardware integration.
Key innovations include OP Gaming Core technology, Next-Gen HyperRendering, the Performance Tri-Chip, and OP FPS Max for ultra-smooth 165fps gaming. Here’s more on that.
According to OnePlus, the OP Gaming Core is a proprietary chip-level technology built using over 20,000 lines of original code and supported by 254 gaming-optimisation patents. It operates at the foundational layer of Android to restructure how gaming performance is delivered at the hardware level, focusing on stability and power efficiency.
At the centre of this innovation is the OnePlus CPU Scheduler, which replaces the traditional Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS) used in Android systems. The scheduler uses intelligent computing resource allocation to analyse gaming workloads, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimise task execution.
OnePlus claims this approach reduces CPU instructions for key tasks by up to 22.74%, ensuring a more efficient and responsive gaming experience.
Devices equipped with OP Gaming Core such as the upcoming OnePlus 15, will feature per-frame power control and deliver a stable 120fps gameplay experience in supported titles. The technology also enhances thermal management and power efficiency, minimising frame rate fluctuations even during long gaming sessions.
OnePlus has also introduced Next-Gen HyperRendering, which reconstructs the GPU pipeline for improved graphical performance. The company claims it boosts per-frame rendering efficiency by 80% through optimised Vulkan driver-level instruction logic.
This reduces the latency caused by frame interpolation to nearly zero, offering smoother and more immersive visuals during gameplay.
The OP Gaming Core technology is complemented by OnePlus’s new Performance Tri-Chip, a hardware-based solution comprising three dedicated chips. It has Performance, Touch-Response, and Wi-Fi Chip G2, all integrated with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform.
The Touch-Response chip handles input processing independently from the main SoC, allowing faster touch detection with a 330Hz touch sampling rate and 3200Hz instantaneous sampling rate, greatly improving reaction time and control accuracy.
Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi Chip G2 features enhanced RF modules and OnePlus’s SmartLink algorithms to maintain network stability in weak signal environments. It reduces lag and stutter, ensuring a consistent online gaming experience.
OnePlus also launched OP FPS Max, a dedicated high-frame-rate gaming solution designed for 165Hz displays with native 165fps support. The feature combines OP Gaming Core’s chip-level optimisations with the Performance Tri-Chip’s fast touch processing and improved connectivity to deliver ultra-smooth gameplay.
According to the brand, 165fps gameplay is already live on select popular gaming titles, with plans to expand support through upcoming game partnerships and industry collaborations.
