OnePlus has begun delivering its January 2025 OxygenOS update, bringing fresh features and fixes to supported devices. Following the company’s commitment to monthly updates announced in August 2024, this latest rollout (version V30P01) includes enhancements to apps, system stability and user experience.

What’s New in the January 2025 OxygenOS Update :

Photos App

  • You can now zoom in or out in the Bursts album.
  • Videos can be played in repeat mode.
  • New cleanup suggestions help you delete unwanted photos to free up storage.
  • “People” and other smart albums now organize photos more accurately.

Recorder

  • A recycle bin has been added, allowing you to view or recover deleted recordings within 30 days.

Weather App

  • You can now preview weather info when adding a city to your list.

Screenshot Tool

  • The floating preview window has been removed after taking a Partial Screenshot, making it smoother to use.

Phone Manager

  • You can now select and clear risky apps directly from the Virus Scan Result page.
  • Improved app cleanup features, including options to reset or uninstall apps.
  • Theft prevention features can now be enabled via Tools – Security Protection.
  • Privacy protection functions are now accessible through Tools.

Notes (Available on OxygenOS 14 & 15)

  • The body text font size can now be adjusted.

IR Remote (Supported on select models with OxygenOS 15)

  • You can now take a photo of your remote control to add it to your IR Remote app.

System

  • General system stability has been improved.

Samsung has also begun rolling out the January 2025 security patch focusing primarily on improving device security.

The update delivers nearly 30 security fixes including:

  • Five critical patches from Google’s January 2025 bulletin.
  • 22 additional Samsung-specific updates.

Although this update doesn’t include new features, it ensures devices remain secure.

One UI 7 Update Timeline

One UI 7 is still in beta for the Galaxy S24 series. The official rollout is expected in February 2025 following the launch of the Galaxy S25 series later this month.
