The trend of smartphone price hikes continues in India and the latest device to see an increase is the OnePlus 15R. The Chinese smartphone brand has now announced a price hike of Rs 2,500 for one of its popular mid-rangers. Here’s everything you need to know about the
At launch, the OnePlus 15R was priced at Rs 47,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. Following the hike, this model now costs Rs 50,499.
Similarly, the higher-end 12GB + 512GB variant, which was originally priced at Rs 52,999, is now available for Rs 55,499.
The rumour of OnePlus 15R price hike was doing rounds for a while and earlier reports had suggested a possible Rs 4,000 hike in March. Anyhow, the new prices have now been updated across OnePlus website and retail platforms.
The price also indicates that the initial pricing of the OnePlus 15R may have been introductory or based on tight margins. It somehow prompted a revision in line with current market conditions. Rising component costs have been pushing OEMs to revise pricing, affecting both newly launched and existing models.
OnePlus 15R features a large 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and runs on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16.
In terms of optics, the smartphone includes a 50-megapixel primary rear camera paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, while the front houses a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The device is backed by a massive 7,400mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.
The OnePlus 15R also offers strong durability credentials with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. Its hardware is clearly tuned for performance and endurance with the 165Hz flat display enabling up to 165FPS in select games. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset sits just below the flagship 8 Elite Gen 5 and it still delivers top-tier performance. However, the camera setup focuses more on basic usability rather than versatility, making it suitable for casual photography rather than advanced imaging needs.
Even with the revised pricing, the OnePlus 15R remains a compelling option in its segment especially for users prioritising gaming performance and battery life.
