We have been hearing rumours about OnePlus 13 and getting updates from unofficial sources for months now. It looks like we finally have an update officially from OnePlus itself.
Louis Lee President of OnePlus China recently shared the first look at the upcoming phone on Weibo. The image reveals the front display panel with a slim-bezel design and a punch-hole cutout for the front camera.
A previously leaked image has revealed the back design of the upcoming OnePlus 13. It shows a different camera module design compared to the OnePlus 12.
President of OnePlus China, Louis Lee posted on Weibo.
Lee posted, as we translate thanks to Google Translate, “Thanks to the efforts of our display partners, we have another good news to share with you before the holiday: the world’s first “second-generation Oriental Screen” was successfully lit! Today we completed the outdoor lighting test of this screen at the @京方BOE technology exhibition. In terms of screen quality, last year’s OnePlus 12 “Oriental Screen” was already the pinnacle. Soon, the “second-generation Oriental Screen” will bring even more outstanding performance, and the effect [Laughs but says nothing]will be far ahead of others”
Apart from the first look of the phone, what caught attention was how Lee’s post revealed the key highlight of the OnePlus 13 – the second-generation Oriental Screen by BOE.
Previously, we had OnePlus 12 featuring the first generation of the same screen. So, it is understandable that the next OnePlus is upgrading to a new Oriental Screen.
The OnePlus 12 screen offered a whooping 4,500 nits peak brightness, 3168x1440p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a pixel density of 510 PPI.
As per Lee, the upcoming smartphone display will offer even better performance compared to this. However, the exact upgrades and specific display features are still under wraps.
But what about the rest of the features? Here’s what we know so far about the OnePlus 13.
The OnePlus 13 is expected to come equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. This will be paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
The upcoming smartphone will likely house a massive 6,000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
For photography, the OnePlus 13 will sport a 32MP front camera, while the rear will house a triple camera setup with three 50MP sensors (LYT-808 with OIS for the primary, LYT-600 for ultra-wide, and LYT-600 for 3x periscope zoom).
The phone will also feature an IP69 rating, a metallic frame, an alert slider, and a 0916 Turbo haptic motor for enhanced user experience.
Looking at the rumoured specs and leaks, the OnePlus 13 seems to be turning out with significant upgrades and a strong flagship.
