Qualcomm is to unleash its upcoming flagship mobile processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, later this year, and the processor is likely to make its way to the next generation of high-end smartphones.
A recent leak claims that the OnePlus 13 will be one of the first devices featuring this new chip from the San Diego-based processor maker.
But before we get down to the processor, here’s a look at some other details leaked about the OnePlus 13, which you should take with a pinch of salt considering it’s based on unconfirmed rumors.
Citing the reputable Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 13 is slated to feature a new single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for improved security and biometrics.
The battery capacity is expected to be even greater than the already impressive 5,400mAh unit found in the OnePlus 12.
This increase will be made possible by the use of advanced silicon anode battery technology, which increases energy density and enables faster charging.
In terms of display, the OnePlus 13 may use a similar 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a slightly curved design to the OnePlus 12.
However, the triple rear camera setup may include an improved periscope lens.
Moving on to the highly anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, which is expected to set new benchmarks for flagship devices thanks to its advanced 3nm manufacturing process and increased power efficiency.
The new layout design of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will increase the clock speed from 3.3GHz to 4GHz over the previous generation.
The new chipset features Qualcomm’s Oryon CPU cores, which boast increased performance and energy efficiency compared to the older Arm CPU designs.
Moreover, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will sport a dedicated digital signal processor and an AI accelerator to bring further improvements in the arena of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
