OnePlus recently launched its flagship OnePlus 13 smartphone in China with much fanfare.
While the global launch of the smartphone is still a few weeks away, OnePlus is currently in the middle of introducing new features to the phone.
Recently, the Chinese smartphone maker has introduced a new camera enhancement feature to the already top-tier camera of the OnePlus 13.
OnePlus 13 in China is now getting a new ‘macro close-up’ feature that allows users to capture extreme close-up shots with ease. This latest system update adds a new level of versatility to the already impressive camera system on the OnePlus 13.
As per the OnePlus announcement, the macro mode can be accessed after updating the device.
Once the update is installed, users can simply open the camera app, tap on the “little petal” icon and start shooting in macro mode. The update is being rolled out gradually, with all eligible devices expected to receive it by November 17.
To check for the update, users can go to Settings > System and Updates > Software Update, or try the “Apply for trial” option for a quick upgrade.
The OnePlus 13 comes with an enhanced camera setup that includes a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP LYT-600 periscope telephoto lens with a multi-prism periscope structure and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view. All are powered by the Samsung S5KJN5 sensor.
OnePlus has also continued its partnership with Hasselblad for image processing. It comes with features like “AI De-glare” for reducing reflections and “Shadowless Snap” for motion capture, features borrowed from the Find X8 series.
The OnePlus 13 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor providing a 45% boost in CPU and GPU performance. It also features OnePlus’s self-developed Tidal Engine for enhanced gaming and up to four years of smooth performance.
The second-generation Tiangong Cooling System Pro with a large 9925mm² vapour chamber ensures efficient temperature management.
The OnePlus 13 is set to launch globally in December 2024. In China, the smartphone price currently starts at 4,499 yuan (approx $631 or INR 53,284).
Based on this, we can expect the global pricing to remain in the same range.
