OnePlus has officially revealed, via its Weibo account, the launch date for the highly anticipated OnePlus 12 5G.
Coinciding with the OnePlus 10th Anniversary celebrations, the launch event is scheduled for December 4 in Shenzhen, marking a new chapter in the company’s flagship offerings.
The OnePlus 12 launch event, set to take place at 7 PM (UTC+08:00), promises an exclusive first look at the latest flagship during the 10th Anniversary Fireside Chat event.
It should be noted that the Indian launch has still not been confirmed by OnePlus although anticipation is high for it being sometime early next year.
Ahead of the OnePlus 12 launch, OnePlus has confirmed several key features of the device. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, ensuring top-tier performance for 2024’s flagship phones.
The device is also said to feature a state-of-the-art 2K LTPO OLED display from BOE, known as the X1 Oriental Screen, with an impressive peak brightness of nearly 3,000nits and a DisplayMate A+ rating.
OnePlus China’s President, Li Jie, has revealed the inclusion of a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens in the OnePlus 12, likely equipped with an OmniVision OV64B sensor for up to 3x optical zoom.
The camera setup is expected to include a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide Sony IMX581 sensor, demonstrating OnePlus’s commitment to advanced photography capabilities.
For the uninitiated, this setup has been used by OnePlus on its latest OnePlus Open foldable.
The OnePlus 12 has already acquired multiple certifications globally, including from Thailand’s NBTC and China’s CQC, hinting at a worldwide launch following the China event.
These certifications have also affirmed the device’s fast charging capabilities, adding to the anticipation surrounding the OnePlus 12 launch.
