Nothing is gearing up for the launch of its Nothing Ear (3) earbuds on September 18. The company has been steadily teasing key features ahead of the official debut. Earlier teasers showcased the design of the earbuds and highlighted the much-talked-about Talk button on the charging case. And now we have another official teaser.
In its latest teaser, Nothing has revealed that the charging case will feature a built-in microphone, which the company is branding as the “Super Mic.” A new promotional image shared on Nothing’s official Instagram account reads, “Ear (3) with Super Mic. Now they can hear you.” The picture also shows a user’s thumb positioned over the Talk button.
Although the Supermic itself isn’t visible in this new teaser, Nothing confirmed that it is placed on the right side of the case, as shown in an earlier post. According to the brand, this microphone is designed to enhance voice clarity by focusing on the speaker’s voice and reducing background noise, ensuring better call quality.
This update also gives more clarity on the Talk button’s role.
It will allow users to answer calls directly from the charging case. A previous teaser had already confirmed that the case includes a speaker, which means users will not only be able to speak but also hear audio responses straight from the case itself. While answering calls seems to be the primary use, Nothing suggests that the Talk button could offer additional functionalities in the future.
From earlier teasers, the earbuds are expected to carry the model number B160. This is in reference to the Pokémon Feraligatr, whose National Pokédex number is also 160. Rumours also suggest that Nothing might partner with KEF for audio tuning, though this has not been confirmed.
As of now, the device has yet to appear in official certifications, leaving most of its specifications unknown.
