Nokia is reportedly working on its next-generation industrial smartphone, the Mission-Safe Phone 2. Unlike Nokia-branded consumer smartphones such as the Nokia 105 4G developed and marketed by HMD Global, this device is being built directly by Nokia for industrial and enterprise use. Early leaks have revealed major upgrades in design and hardware that make the device appear quite impressive on paper. Here’s everything we know about this device so far.
The Mission-Safe Phone 2 is expected to bring a more modern design while retaining its rugged identity.
According to reliable tipster HMD_MEME’S @smashx_60 on X, the smartphone will feature a refined front with slimmer bezels and a punch-hole cutout housing a 50-megapixel selfie camera replacing the older notch design. The display size is said to increase from 6.32 inches to 6.58 inches with support for 1080p+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Durability remains a key highlight of the device as the phone is expected to come with IP68 and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance alongwith MIL-STD-810H certification for protection against extreme temperatures and vibrations. The screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 enhancing resistance against scratches and accidental drops.
On the back, the device is said to feature pogo pins enabling compatibility with charging docks and specialised accessories tailored for industrial use. The camera module has a pill-shaped design and will reportedly house dual 50-megapixel sensors.
Additionally, it will include a laser component that functions as a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor and assists with autofocus.
In terms of performance, the smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-6690 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Nokia is also said to offer long-term software support promising three major Android updates and up to seven years of security patches.
The Nokia Mission-Safe Phone 2 is specifically designed for industrial customers and not regular users. It is likely to be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2027.
We can expect more details about its availability and pricing to be announced during the event.
