Motorola’s upcoming foldable smartphone, the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra, will be part of Motorola’s next-generation flagship foldable lineup. The Ultra variant is expected to sit at the top, alongside a standard Razr 70 model. While leaked renders recently gave an idea of the design, the smartphone has now been mentioned online for the first time. The smartphone was spotted on the HDR10+ certification database, hinting at an imminent launch. Here’s everything we know.
The HDR10+ listing confirms that the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra will support HDR10+ technology. This ensures improved visual quality, offering more vivid colours, enhanced contrast, and better detail in both bright and dark scenes while streaming supported content.
This certification also suggests that Motorola is actively preparing the foldable smartphone for its official debut
Recent leaked design renders have already given an early look at the device. Similar to its predecessor, the upcoming Razr 70 Ultra is expected to retain the clamshell-style foldable design.
According to the leaked renders, Motorola may introduce a refined design with a more metallic back panel, replacing the experimental materials like Alcantara or wood finishes seen in earlier models. However, the company could still offer multiple finish options at launch.
In terms of dimensions, the Razr 70 Ultra is tipped to measure 171.3 x 74.1 x 7.8 mm when unfolded, and 88.0 x 74.1 x 15.8 mm when folded. This makes the device slightly thicker compared to its predecessor. While the added thickness might seem like a drawback at first, it could indicate improvements in internal components such as a larger battery or upgraded camera hardware.
Motorola is expected to retain a similar display setup as before including a 7-inch inner foldable screen and a 4-inch outer display.
As of now, there is limited information about additional upgrades. However, the Razr 70 Ultra could bring incremental improvements including enhancements to battery life, camera performance, and possibly more AI-driven features.
With its first official certification now live, more details about the Motorola Razr 70 Ultra are expected to surface in the coming weeks ahead of its anticipated launch.
