Motorola has started teasing the launch of its upcoming clamshell-style foldable smartphone, the Motorola Razr 2026, in the US. The device is also expected to arrive in global markets under the moniker Motorola Razr 70. The teaser posted on official Motorola US social media pages also hints at key design elements and colour options of the upcoming foldable. Here’s more on that.
The teaser shared via Motorola US social media suggests that Motorola will unveil a new smartphone on April 29. However, it remains unclear whether this date marks the official launch or the beginning of detailed announcements about the device. The teaser video doesn’t specifically mentions the phone name but does highlight it belongs to “new razr family.”
The Motorola Razr 2026 appears in three colour options in the video that seems to be brown, green and purple. Although their official marketing names have not been disclosed yet.
In terms of design, the handset closely resembles its predecessor Motorola Razr 2025. It features a large cover display on the upper flap that wraps around a dual rear camera setup along with an LED flash.
The foldable showcases a textured finish as the frame appears to be made of metal. The right side of the device houses the power button and volume controls, whereas the left side seems clean with no visible buttons. The Motorola logo is placed at the centre of the rear panel and the Razr branding is positioned at the bottom.
At the base, the phone includes a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille.
According to previous report, the Motorola Razr 2026 is expected to feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED foldable inner display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. It could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X processor with a peak clock speed of 2.60GHz paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
The foldable is likely to include a dual rear camera setup with two 50-megapixel sensors alongwith a 32-megapixel front-facing camera housed on the inner display.
In terms of pricing, the foldable is expected to be priced at $799.99 (approximately Rs. 74,400) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
