It appears we have an early look at Motorola’s upcoming flagship, the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra. It will be the successor to the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra from 2024 as the brand is skipping the “Edge 60 Ultra” naming. Here’s what we know based on recent leaks.

In its latest report, AndroidHeadlines has shared what appear to be official renders of the Edge 70 Ultra. The leaked image shows the phone in two colour options with a textured rear panel. This rear design marks a noticeable shift from the eco-leather finish seen on the Edge 50 Ultra, opting instead for a patterned surface similar to what we’ve seen on recently launched performance-focused flagships.
The camera module sits in the top-left corner, housing three lenses. The arrangement points to a primary camera, an ultrawide shooter and a periscope telephoto lens, which hints at strong versatility in the imaging system.
The handset is expected to feature a metal frame with the right side accommodating the power and volume buttons. On the left, a dedicated key is visible, likely tied to AI-related shortcuts or functions.
Although the front design hasn’t been leaked yet, expectations are high for a centred punch-hole camera, thin bezels and a flat OLED panel. The display size is estimated to fall between 6.7 and 6.8 inches, complete with a high refresh rate for smooth performance.
Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra is rumoured to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. It is a tier below the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 set to power top-tier flagships. According to early Geekbench listings, the phone has achieved scores of 2,636 (single-core) and 7,475 (multi-core), paired with 16GB of RAM. It is also expected to ship with Hello UX atop Android 16.
Camera details are still limited, but the inclusion of a periscope telephoto lens hints at improved zoom capabilities. Upgraded primary and ultrawide sensors may also be part of the system. Battery size and charging specs are yet to be revealed.
In China, the phone will likely launch as the Moto X70 Ultra. While Motorola has not confirmed a release timeline, the new flagship is expected to debut sometime in the first quarter of 2026.
