Motorola Edge 70 Pro has been officially introduced in the Indian market and with that the question arises if it is worth upgrading to it. There is also its predecessor Motorola Edge 60 Pro available in the market that can give the new 70 Edge Pro a tough competition considering the noticeable price difference and some similar specs in both. The Motorola Edge 60 Pro comes with a quad-curved design on both front and rear. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i with an anti-fingerprint coating on the front, while the back has a leather-inspired or nylon-inspired texture with a dedicated AI key on the side. The device weighs 183g and comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance alongwith MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification.

On the other hand, we have Motorola Edge 70 Pro that also weighs 183g and features Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front. The rear panel comes in silk-inspired, acetate and suit finishes paired with a plastic frame. It also offers IP68 and IP69 ratings along with MIL-STD 810H certification for durability.

On the display front, the Edge 60 Pro features a 6.7-inch Super HD quad-curved pOLED display with a resolution of 2712 x 1220 pixels (1.5K), 446ppi pixel density, HDR10+ support, 10-bit colour, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also includes Aqua Touch support.

As for Edge 70 Pro, you gets a slightly larger 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, a higher resolution of 2772 x 1272 pixels and a 450ppi pixel density.

The Motorola Edge 60 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Extreme processor built on a 4nm-class architecture. It features an octa-core CPU setup with 1x Cortex-A715 at 3.35GHz, 3x Cortex-A715 at 3.2GHz and 4x Cortex-A510 at 2.2GHz paired with a Mali-G615 MC6 GPU. It runs on Android 15.

Meanwhile, the newly launched Motorola Edge 70 Pro packs the newer MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset and runs on Android 16. This one definitely offers a more updated software experience.

In comparison, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro is priced higher at ₹36,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant and ₹41,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model.

If you are looking for a lower-priced option with features like wireless charging and a triple camera setup, the Edge 60 Pro is the option that mostly stands out.

However, if you prefer a newer chipset, larger battery, slightly bigger display and Android 16 out of the box, the Edge 70 Pro could be worth considering. The only catch is that it offers all those upgraded specifications at a higher price.
