At the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft and ASUS teamed up to reveal two new handheld gaming PCs, the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X. Designed to combine the flexibility of Windows 11 with an Xbox-first gaming experience, both devices bring serious gaming power in a portable form. Here’s all we know about the new devices.

The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X will launch in selected regions including the US, UK, Australia, France, Japan and Singapore along with 21 more countries.
However, there’s no official word yet on when these devices will arrive in the Indian market. Microsoft says pricing and pre-order details will be announced in the coming months.

Both handhelds run on Windows 11 Home, but with a twist. It’s been specially optimised for handheld gaming. Microsoft has removed unnecessary elements to boost performance and battery life. There’s also a new feature that highlights the games that run best on these devices, similar to the experience on Steam Deck.
In short, the ROG Xbox Ally series is Microsoft and ASUS’s answer to portable PC gaming with Xbox integration, premium hardware, and a focus on performance, all packed into a handheld form.

Answer. The ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD, while the Ally X upgrades to Ryzen Z1 Extreme, 24GB RAM, and 1TB SSD with an 80Wh battery.
