Lava is expanding its Agni lineup with a new feature-packed mid-range smartphone, Lava Agni 4, in India. The brand has been teasing the smartphones on all its social media handles for weeks now. One of the major highlights of the newly launched device is the introduction of Vayu AI. Lava claims it to be an intelligent and emotionally aware AI model specifically designed for users in India.

The device comes equipped with a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED display offering a 120Hz refresh rate, 2400 nits peak brightness, and 10-bit colour depth for enhanced visual performance.
Powering the AGNI 4 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, supported by a 4300mm² VC liquid cooling system and a dedicated Game Booster mode. The phone includes 8GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 8GB virtual RAM, and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. It runs Android 15 out of the box with a clean, bloatware-free interface. Lava has also committed to three years of Android OS updates and four years of security patches.
A key highlight is the introduction of Vayu AI. It is Lava’s new system-level AI integrated directly into the home screen. The brand describes it as an “emotionally aware” assistant tailored for Indian users.
Vayu AI offers voice and visual intelligence, Circle to Search, and multiple task-focused AI agents, such as AI Math and English teachers, an AI Horoscope generator, AI Companions for casual chats, AI Call Summary with transcripts and speaker identification, an AI Text Assistant for translation and corrections, and document analysis. Creative users get access to an AI Photo Editor featuring object removal and an AI Image Generator.
On the design front, the AGNI 4 sports an aluminium alloy metal frame combined with a Super Anti Drop Diamond Frame for added durability. The rear camera system includes a 50MP primary sensor (1/1.55-inch, f/1.88, OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2).
For selfies, there’s a 50MP front camera. Both front and rear cameras support up to 4K 60fps video recording. The device also features an Action Key offering over 100 customisable shortcuts for short, double, or long presses.
The AGNI 4 packs a 5000mAh battery with 66W fast charging, capable of reaching 50% charge in under 19 minutes, according to Lava. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C audio, stereo speakers, IP64 dust and water resistance, 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, Beidou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and USB Type-C connectivity.
Lava is offering the AGNI 4 in Phantom Black and Lunar Mist colour options. The smartphone is priced at Rs 24,999 for the sole 8GB + 256GB variant. The brand is also offering with free at-home demo and replacement for any manufacturing defect covered under warranty.
