Apple Watches is one of the most premium consumer tech products today that offers advanced health tracking features.
In the past few years, more and more people are relying on Apple watches for basic health tracking needs.
The one thing that separates Apple watches from other smartwatch companies is its accuracy based on advanced tracking features and precise sensors.
Now, recent reports suggest Apple is working on taking things a step further by exploring new ways to embed health sensors directly into the bands of future Apple Watch models.

In November 2024, the US Patent and Trademark Office granted Apple 38 new patents. Out of these, patent number 12133743 titled “Fabric-based items with stretchable bands” has highlighted by Patently Apple for how Apple is developing watch straps with stretchable fabric and adding sensors on them. These sensors would measure various health metrics including blood pressure and respiratory rates.

In its report sharing the patent details, Patently Apple writes, “The wearable device may be a wrist band with elastic fabric, a headband with elastic fabric, or other wearable items that includes elastic fabric (e.g., a hat, an undergarment worn on a user’s torso or lower body, a shirt, pants, shorts (e.g., bicycle shorts, board shorts, or other snugly fitting clothing), yoga clothing or other athletic attire, an armband, an elastic belt, a sock, a glove, etc.”
Apple already offers stretchy fabric bands for its watches, so it’s possible we could see these sensor-equipped straps in the next generation of Apple Watches. The patent also describes how the fabric’s circuitry might receive wireless power, allowing the strap to be charged without cables.
Apple reportedly has also suggested this technology could also work in a headband with elastic fabric similar to the one on the Vision Pro headset.
While Apple isn’t the first to explore this idea as Huawei’s Watch D2 already monitors blood pressure from its band.
However, this new patent highlights the commitment of the brand to offering its users more sophisticated wearable health tech.
Moreover, the patent mentions that these bands could be made resilient to high temperatures, which makes them suitable for use in extreme climates.

Reports confirm spotting a Samsung Galaxy S25 variant.
The phone appears with model number ‘SM-S937U’ in the GSMA IMEI database.
The model number sequence aligns with other Galaxy S25 series variants.
Announcement is expected in Q2 2025.
We have previously reported based on a Korean website leak that Samsung is working on a Galaxy S25 slim variant to be released along with three expected Galaxy S25 models.
While tech enthusiasts and online community is still on the speculation mode, a new Smartprix report has revealed spotting a “mysterious” 4th model of Galay S25 series online confirming the previous reports.
According to a recent report, Smartprix team apparently spotted an upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphone with model number ‘SM-S937U’ in the GSMA IMEI database.

While this seem like a regular Galaxy phone to few, Smartprix team inferred that this phone is part of Galaxy S25 series based on the model number sequence that matches previously revealed Galaxy S25 series other variant’s model number.
A closer look at Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series model numbers shows that the Galaxy S25 has a model numbers “SM-S931”, Galaxy S25+ “SM-S936” and Galaxy S25 Ultra “SM-S938”.
Now, the recently model number perfectly fits into this sequence, which means it is confirmed to be a part of the Galaxy S25 series.
As for the ‘U’ at the end of recentlydiscovered model number ‘SM-S937U’, it stands of US. This means the mysterious smartphone discovered in the US variant of the device. However, we can expect the Korean brand to soon add other region variants in the database as well.
Samsung’s history with thin smartphones is almost a decade old.
Last time we heard about a slim Samsung phone was back in March 2014 when the brand announce Galaxy S5. The smartphone had a thickness of 8.1mm.
Compared to this, Samsung came up with a thinner phone Galaxy Alpha with 6.7mm thickness just few months after.
And now, a decade later, we are again getting reports of Samsung designing a thin smartphone.
Samsung now developing a slim variant of their popular flagship is understandable considering reports of Apple developing a slim iPhone 17 has been doing rounds for a quite a while.
However, these are all just speculations and rumours as of now. We aren’t even sure if the new mysterious phone will be the thin variant or if the brand name it something like “Galaxy S25 Slim.”
According to certain reports, the company traditionally adds upcoming smartphones in databases around 6-7 months before. Based on this, we can expect Samsung to announce Galaxxy S25 model sometime in the second quarter of 2025.

It will significantly improve camera performance in different lighting conditions.

We just saw the iPhone 16 series launch and rumours about the next iPhone 17 have started giving us a sneak peak of what’s coming from Apple in 2025.
If you thought the Apple world of rumours will settle at that, you thought wrong. While there is no iPhone 17 on sight as of now, word is already leaking about iPhone 18.
A recent report suggested some key details about iPhone 18 Pro and it got the online tech rightfully community excited.
Trusted supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is known for correctly predicting aspects of future Apple lineups several times, recently shared that the Cupertino giant is planning a significant camera upgrade for iPhones in 2026.
According to Kuo, Apple is developing a variable aperture lens for iPhone 18 Pro, expected to hit the streets in 2026.
Assuming Kuo is right about this like he is most of the time, we will be seeing such tech on an iPhone for the first time.
In his recent blog post that talked about Apple’s supply chain relationships as the company is in the process of developing iPhone 17 and iPhone 18, Kuo wrote, “One major upgrade for the 2026 high-end iPhone 18 is the wide-camera lens upgrading to a variable aperture camera, significantly enhancing the user photography experience. My latest industry survey indicates Sunny Optical will be the primary shutter supplier (with Luxshare as secondary) and the second variable aperture lens supplier (after Largan Precision).”
Variable aperture allows main camera lens to physically adjust its aperture size (opening) and control the amount of light reaching the camera sensor.
Sunny Optical’s Apple lens orders are gradually recovering from 2H24, with an estimated market share of about 5% in 2024.
This tech in iPhones will provide significant improvements in low-light photography, offer enhanced depth of field control and overall more versatility in photography across different environment and lighting conditions.
While Kuo is a solid source to believe possibilities for future Apple products, this is not the first time we are hearing about Apple adding variable aperture in iPhones.
Previously we have had The Information also reporting that Apple was working on getting the a variable aperture lens to iPhones.
The only difference in the recent Kuo prediction and what The Information suggested is that according to the later, the camera upgrade plans were for one of the iPhone 17 model in 2025.
However, now with Kuo prediction, it appears that either Apple has changed its plan or the camera upgrade has been delayed to iPhone 18 due to some other production challenge.
In any case, we expect since word is out, more details will emerge on this sooner or later. Anyhow, this has Apple fans excited and talking for now.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 remains in the top 10 for three consecutive quarters.
Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C also secures a spot in the top 10.

Apple iPhone 15 series tops global smartphone sales in the third quarter of 2024 in Counterpoint Research’s latest rankings.
While the standard iPhone 15 snatches the top spot, the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro followed closely behind for second and third position on the rankings respectively.
The third quarter ranking shows a complete dominance of Apple taking over the top 3 spots in the global top-10 best-selling smartphones list.
For the first time in a third quarter, Pro models accounted for half of all iPhone sales.
On the other hand, we have Samsung with the most number of phones in the top 10 list. Samsung’s strong presence is maintained by four Samsung A series smartphones making it in the top 10.
Apart from this, the Galaxy S24 also continued to be in the top 10 for the third consecutive quarter. It’s also the first time since 2018 that a Galaxy S model has been in the top 10.
The top 10 smartphone models accounted for 19% of global sales in Q3 2024.
When it comes to market share, Samsung managed to get the maximum five spots in the best-selling smartphones list and Apple remained closely behind with four iPhones on the list. This left only one spot for Xiaomi, which was grabbed by Redmi 13C.
The rankings are very similar to what we have seen last year.
This suggests that primary consumer behaviour has not changed too much from the last quarter.
The Q3 2024 rankings highlight a major shift in the smartphone industry where the global demand for premium smartphones is on the rise.
The sale numbers of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro are very close, which shows equal interest in both standard and high-end devices.
We can say that Apple’s marketing, payment options and trade-in deals have also helped the company ensure its latest iPhones reach more people mainly in emerging economies.
Samsung’s success was mainly because of the growing popularity of Galaxy S24, which included advanced GenAI features.
But the S24 is not the only best-performing smartphone from Samsung.
Samsung’s Galaxy A series, which is known for its affordability and long-term software support, took four spots in the top 10 owing to its popularity in developing markets.
Xiaomi’s Redmi 13C remained in the top 10 due to its low price and improvements over the previous Redmi 12C model.
Overall, the iPhone 15series dominated the global smartphone market in Q3 2024, driven by strong demand and appealing new features. Samsung’s Galaxy S24 and Galaxy A series also performed well, supported by their solid brand reputation and a wide range of products.

Ths humorous comparison sparked a lively conversation about ultra-fast delivery services in the UAE and India.
Many users commented on the impressive delivery times in both regions, debating which country truly leads in speed-driven services.
While some users were amazed by the quick PS5 delivery in the UAE, Blinkit’s record-breaking speeds in India held more appeal for others.
The discussion also delved into other aspects of quick deliveries. Some users living abroad expressed how much they missed using Blinkit and India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for easy, quick deliveries and payments.

Other reactions to Irffan’s post brought a mix of humour and reflection. One user joked, “You can complete one game before his PS5 even arrives. India is not for beginners.”
Another user, however, raised a social concern, remarking, “Both countries exploit cheap labour to provide service that comes at the cost of labour safety.”
Not everyone was on board with ultra-fast deliveries, though. One user questioned, “Do we really need it in 23 minutes or 8 minutes? I can just go to a store and buy it, plus maybe pick up some games and accessories.
