Design and Build Quality

Design and Build Quality

The Itel A90 Limited Edition keeps things simple when it comes to design. But it does give an aesthetic that feels quite nice in daily use. We had the Space Titanium colour variant for this review and it has a classic silver matte finish. It doesn’t attract fingerprints easily and it gives the phone a clean, premium look.

The camera module is an instant reminder of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It has a glass base and stretches across the top portion of the back.  The body has a boxy shape, rounded corners and not-so-sharp edges, making the phone comfortable to hold. Overall, the phone has a modern, high-end vibe. The phone is quite lightweight as well.

It comes with MIL-STD-810H military-grade protection, which is something you don’t usually see in this segment. Itel claims it can handle accidental drops, extreme heat, freezing temperatures, and even long hours of high humidity. During brand testing, it survived –

  • High temperatures between 30–43°C
  • Low temperatures as harsh as –25°C to –35°C
  • Humidity up to 95% for multiple cycles
  • A total of 26 drops from 76–122cm on all sides and edges

Itel offers its “3P Promise,” which basically means the phone is dust-proof, water-proof, and drop-proof for real-life usage. The IP54 rating adds extra peace of mind, giving it resistance to dust and light splashes.

All in all, Itel A90 Limited Edition looks premium, feels comfortable, and is built stronger than most phones in its price range.

Display

The 6.6-inch HD+ IPS display is for everyday use. The resolution is 720×1612, the screen looks decent for watching videos, scrolling through social media, or reading. It comes with a 90Hz refresh rate. And that makes basic actions like scrolling, swiping, and navigating through menus feel smoother.

The screen responds decently well and we didn’t feel any concerning lag in touch input.

Itel offers 480 nits of typical brightness, which is good enough indoors. Outdoors, especially under strong sunlight, you may need to tilt the phone a bit, but the screen still stays usable. It has a modern look with slim bezels, making the phone feel more immersive even though it’s an HD+ panel. We are also getting an Always-On Display at this price.

Overall, the display might feel simple on paper but we found it quite reliable and well within expectations for the segment.

Performance

Performance

Itel A90 Limited Edition is a budget phone that’s built for everyday tasks. It runs on the UNISOC T7100 processor and it handles regular use quite well. The phone obviously isn’t meant for heavy gaming or intense multitasking. Although we didn’t face any issues with regular tasks such as calling, messaging, social media apps, light browsing and streaming.

The phone comes with 12GB RAM in total, which includes 4GB physical RAM + 8GB virtual RAM. This extra virtual RAM really helps keep apps from closing in the background too quickly. We felt the phone was smooth in switching between apps and basic tasks were never slow or frustrating.

The Limited Edition is a 128GB storage variant and it has plenty of space for photos, apps and downloads if you are an average user.

It runs Android 14 Go Edition, which is a lighter version of Android designed for budget phones. The software feels responsive for everyday actions without much noticeable delays. There are a few unnecessary apps, but all can be uninstalled if not required.

Itel’s AI assistant, Aivana 2.0 is also a part of A90 Limited Edition. We tried using it for simple things like opening apps, setting reminders, and asking basic questions. The response is decent, considering the segment.

Camera Performance

Camera Performance

The rear camera is a 13MP shooter with a light sensor. It captures fairly sharp and bright photos in good daylight. Colours look natural and the images have enough detail for casual photography.

The camera does struggle in low light conditions even though there is light sensor on rear to balance things. There’s also a rear LED flash, which actually helps more than usual in low-light situations. The camera system is supported with an interesting sliding zoom button. It makes zooming in and out feel smoother and more precise than tapping the screen.

The front camera is a 5MP shooter with AI enhancements. Selfies look okay but not detailed. It is decent setup for video calls and social media. The AI enhances the skin tones a bit, making the photos look cleaner and slightly brighter.

Battery and Charging

Battery and Charging

It comes with a 5000mAh battery. For a medium to an average user, it easily lasts a full day and more. Itel claims it offers up to 35 days of standby, 31 hours of talk time, 75 hours of music playback, and 18 hours of video streaming.

Charging-wise, the phone supports 15W fast charging but good thing is that Itel packs a 10W charger in the box. It’s not very fast, but it should be acceptable considering the segment.

Overall, the battery performance feels reliable and stress-free.
