There is still some time before we will know something officially about the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models. But that has never stopped the rumour mill from churning out updates on future iPhones. While a lot has been tipped so far, a new report suggests Apple could keep their prices in line with last year’s models. Here’s more on that.
iPhone 18 Pro Pricing Could Be Same As Current iPhone Lineup
The latest word is according to a research note by Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research, as seen and reported by MacRumors. It appears Apple is planning to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the same starting prices as the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.
The market research firm’s supply chain findings indicate that Apple is prioritising “cost management” to ensure that the base pricing of the iPhone 18 Pro models remains either “unchanged” or at a “similar level” compared to their predecessors.
In the US, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 (roughly Rs. 99,000), while the iPhone 17 Pro Max carries a starting price of $1,199 (roughly Rs. 1,08,000). In India, the base variants of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are priced at Rs. 1,34,900 and Rs. 1,49,900, respectively.
If Pu’s projections are accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro series could launch at similar price points in both markets.
Apple Negotiating Memory Deals Amid Rising Costs
The report further claims that Apple has been in discussions with Samsung and SK Hynix to secure relatively “favourable” deals for memory chips, as DRAM and NAND storage costs continue to rise. Pu also believes the company will explore additional ways to cut expenses on key components including display panels and camera modules.
Pu’s assessment aligns with earlier comments from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo had previously indicated that Apple would try to avoid increasing iPhone 18 prices as much as possible.
iPhone 18 Pro – What We Know So Far?
On the hardware front, the iPhone 18 Pro series is tipped to feature telephoto extender lenses and Apple’s next-generation 2nm A20 Pro chipset.
Battery details have also surfaced in leaks. The Chinese variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is said to include a 5,000mAh battery, while the global version could reportedly pack a larger battery capacity ranging between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are widely expected to debut in September, potentially alongside the iPhone Fold. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 model is likely to arrive next year, possibly alongside the iPhone Air 2.
