In a recent DxOMark camera tests report, the iPhone 16 has impressed scoring an impressive 147 points, which places it among the top 20 smartphones globally.
In camera performance, iPhone 16 outperformed its main competitor the Galaxy S24 Ultra as well as earlier models like the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

iPhone 16 is great for indoor photography. The camera captures fine details and delivers sharp and clear images. Autofocus performance was another highlight being both fast and precise ensuring consistent sharpness in a variety of scenarios.
For video recording, the iPhone 16 impressed with controlled noise levels and effective stabilisation.
These features ensured videos were smooth and visually appealing, even in less-than-ideal conditions.
According to DxOMark’s Review, the iPhone 16 has some weaknesses despite all its strengths.
The dynamic range has noticeable limitations that sometimes appear clipped in photos and videos. This could affect the overall balance of images in certain situations.
Lens-related issues were also observed including flare effects and minor artifacts that appeared in some shots. Moreover, the absence of a dedicated telephoto sensor restricts the zoom capabilities.
Low-light performance is another challenge for iPhone 16 cameras. Photos taken in darker settings showed increased noise and less detail and videos recorded in similar conditions had some flare effects and shadow inconsistencies.
