Another day, another iPhone 16 rumour. This one, however, comes from a trusted source so we are expecting this one to be much closer to reality.
Looks like the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are set to have larger screens than previous models. Yes, rumours about this have been around for months.
The fact that we have to thank slimmer bezels for the large screen is also a known fact among tech enthusiasts. What changes now is we have a confirmation from a trusted source.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, as reported by 9to5Mac, the bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro will be around 33% smaller compared to the iPhone 15 Pro.
Just to refresh memories, here’s what to expect from the iPhone 16 Pro screen sizes this year:
It looks like Apple is all set to give us the thinnest bezels of any smartphone in the world.
Last year, Apple reduced the bezels on the iPhone 15 Pro series to under 2mm. This year, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to shrink those bezels even further to around 1.3 or 1.4mm.
As the ancient Greek god in charge of bezel, I would definitely buy the iPhone 16 Pro Max . I can’t refuse it. pic.twitter.com/QBhqIh0UE9

What we are hearing is Apple is using a new technology called Border Reduction Structure (BRS) to achieve this feat.
The technology bends the wiring and circuitry near the display’s edge downwards.
This eventually allows for thinner bezels.
There were also reports of how using this technology initially caused some production issues for the Cupertino giant.
However, it now appears Apple has overcome these challenges and we are all set to get the larger display in the iPhone 16 Pro series models.
Based on all the rumours we have been hearing, here are the full dimensions for the iPhone 16 Pro lineup in comparison with the previous iPhone 15 Pro model –
| iPhone 16 Pro | iPhone 15 Pro | iPhone 16 Pro Max | iPhone 15 Pro Max | |
| Thickness | 8.25 mm | 8.25 mm | 8.25 mm | 8.25 mm |
| Height | 149.6 mm | 146.6 mm | 163.0 mm | 159.9 mm |
| Width | 71.45 mm | 70.60 mm | 77.58 mm | 76.70 mm |
| Display | 6.3-inches | 6.1-inches | 6.9-inches | 6.7-inches |
| Weight | 194 grams | 187 grams | 225 grams | 221 grams |
