India’s exports of electronic goods has doubled in the last five year. According to the data shared by the Ministry of Electronics & IT, India has exported electronics goods worth Rs 81,948 in 2020-21 as compared to Rs 39,980 in 2016-17.

In addition to export, production of electronic goods have also increased in India the last five year.   Thanks to the government schemes and incentive for large investments in the electronics value chain, India has produced electronic goods worth Rs 5,54,461 crore in 2020-21 as compared to Rs 3,17,331 crore.

Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing, Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) for IT Hardware, Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS), Modified Special Incentive Package Scheme (MSIPS) are the prominent schemes notified by the government to boost electronics manufacturing in the country.

Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) for Large Scale Electronics Manufacturing, Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) for IT Hardware, Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS), Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) Scheme, Semiconductor and Display Manufacturing Schemes are the prominent schemes implemented by the government to attract and incentivize large investments in the electronics value chain and promote exports.
