Huawei has introduced two exciting new products in China – the Smart Screen S6 Pro series TVs and the FreeBuds 6 wireless earbuds. The S6 Pro TV is built for high-end home entertainment and gaming, while the FreeBuds 6 promises impressive audio with an industry-first semi-open dual-driver design.
Pre-orders for both are now open, with official sales starting on April 3 for the TV and March 28 for the earbuds. Here’s everything we know about the newly launched devices.
The Smart Screen S6 Pro is ultra-thin, sitting just 5mm from the wall with its near zero-gap mount. Huawei has reduced the body thickness by 36%, making it blend seamlessly into modern living spaces. With a 99% screen-to-body ratio, the design is almost bezel-free, offering an immersive viewing experience.
The TV features a Super MiniLED panel powered by Huawei’s Honghu picture engine, which delivers thousands of dimming zones for enhanced contrast and detail. It is HDR Vivid-certified, covers 94% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and boasts a colour accuracy of ΔE ≤1.5, which Huawei claims is professional-grade.
For smooth motion and gaming performance, the 288Hz refresh rate works alongside Honghu’s motion clarity algorithms. The TV also adapts contrast, brightness, and colour automatically based on the content being played. There’s even a dedicated gaming UI that lets users tweak settings in real-time.
Audio performance is equally impressive. The Audio Vivid technology delivers immersive 3D sound, while an independent low-frequency design allows bass to drop down to 60Hz, ensuring a rich audio experience.
Under the hood, the HarmonyOS 4.3-powered TV runs on a quad-core A73 chipset, with 4GB of RAM (expandable to 6GB via virtual RAM) and 128GB of storage. It supports one-tap 4K casting from Huawei smartphones, and the included Lingxi remote doubles as a universal controller with voice commands and set-top box controls.
Pre-orders are now live on JD.com, with official sales kicking off on April 3 at 10:08 AM local time.
Huawei has also launched the FreeBuds 6, featuring a semi-open water-drop design based on data from millions of human ears. The earphones are 12% smaller, with each bud weighing just 4.9 grams, while the charging case weighs 40.3 grams. Non-slip earmuffs help enhance fit and stability.
It is made up of an ultra-high-frequency micro-flat tweeter and a dual-magnetic high-sensitivity woofer.
The FreeBuds 6 use a three-separation design, where the acoustic, control, and battery systems are split. The audio system features:
Huawei describes these as the industry’s first semi-open dual-driver earbuds, ensuring clear treble, mid-range, and bass separation. The 2.3 Mbps lossless transmission at 48kHz / 24-bit supports HWA Lossless and Hi-Res Wireless certifications.
Real-time ultra-wideband hearing optimisation adjusts frequencies from 50Hz to 2kHz, based on ear shape, wearing position and volume levels. Tuned by experts from the Central Conservatory of Music, the earbuds offer classical and balanced sound modes.
For immersive listening, the FreeBuds 6 supports head-tracking spatial audio, which works seamlessly with the HUAWEI Music app’s spatial audio library to create a live-event feel.
Call quality is another highlight, with a bone conduction microphone and multi-channel noise reduction, handling 95 dB of noise and 8m/s wind speeds. The semi-open light noise reduction helps reduce background sound in offices, cafés, and other public places.
The FreeBuds 6 offers 36 hours of battery life with the case. A 5-minute USB-C charge provides 2.5 hours of playback, while smart charging extends battery lifespan by 37%.
