Huawei has begun building hype for an innovative product launch event scheduled for next week in Dubai.
Promoting the tagline “Get ready to witness the dawn of a thrilling new era in innovation”, the Chinese tech giant appears poised to unveil a range of new devices beyond just smartphones.
Based on teasers, a new smartwatch from Huawei is widely expected to make its debut at the event.
More importantly, sources indicate Huawei plans to launch a global variant of its recently announced MateBook X Pro 2024 ultra-premium laptop.
The featherweight 980g notebook impressed with its thin-and-light design and 13th Gen Intel Core Ultra 9 processor when it hit the Chinese market earlier this year.
Alongside the X Pro, Huawei may take the wraps off new MateBook D laptops as well as a series of MatePad tablets featuring 22.5W fast charging capabilities based on recent certification listings.
Conspicuously absent from the event teasers so far are any hints about new smartphone announcements from Huawei.
This is somewhat surprising given the Chinese launches of the Pura 70 seriesand ongoing rumours about Huawei’s ambitions to re-enter global 5G phone markets.
Reports from last September claimed Huawei was planning a return to selling 5G smartphones internationally following the successful domestic releases of the Mate 60 and Mate X5 foldable.
However, it remains to be seen if the company has saved any phone reveals for its upcoming Dubai event.
While smartphones may take a back seat, the “thrilling new era” phrasing suggests Huawei has major upgrades and innovations in store across its laptop, tablet, wearable and audio device portfolios next week.
Huawei is anticipated to unveil the Huawei Watch Fit 3, updated FreeBuds, the global variant of the MateBook X Pro 2024, new MateBook D laptops, and a series of MatePad tablets.
So far, there have been no teasers or announcements about new smartphones being unveiled at this event, focusing instead on laptops, tablets, and wearables.
The MateBook X Pro 2024 is noted for its ultra-lightweight design, weighing just 980g, and it features a 13th Gen Intel Core Ultra 9 processor.
The event tagline suggests significant innovations across Huawei’s product range, particularly in wearables and computing devices.
Interested consumers should watch for updates during Huawei’s scheduled event in Dubai, where detailed announcements and demonstrations are expected.
