The upcoming Huawei Nova 16 series has surfaced in fresh leaks revealing key upgrades. As for now, the phone is expected to launch in the first half of this year with some notable improvements over its predecessor. Here’s what we know about the phone based on the latest leak.
According to tipster SmartPikachu on Weibo, the Huawei Nova 16 series will continue to feature dual multispectral sensors with one placed on the front and another integrated into the rear camera setup. These sensors are expected to receive further enhancements for clearer images and more accurate colour reproduction compared to previous models.
Battery life is also set to see a major boost in the Nova 16 lineup. The higher-end variants are tipped to pack a massive 7000mAh battery, while the standard Huawei Nova 16 model is likely to feature a slightly smaller battery exceeding 6000mAh capacity.
In terms of performance, the Huawei Nova 16 series is expected to be powered by upgraded Kirin 9 series processors. For context, the previous-generation Nova 15 lineup included the Kirin 8020 5G chipset on the standard model, while the higher-end versions were equipped with the Kirin 9010S processor.
The upcoming Huawei Nova 16 Pro Max variant is rumoured to feature the Kirin 9020 chipset whereas the base model could be powered by a Kirin 8 series processor. However, these chipset details are yet to be officially confirmed.
Apart from all this, the new Nova series is expected to include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor with improved security for faster unlocking. The devices may also feature a metal middle frame contributing to a slimmer and more premium design. Additionally, Huawei is likely to enhance wireless charging capabilities on the Nova 16 lineup.
On the design front, the leak suggests that Huawei is planning a refreshed rear panel design for the Nova 16 series.
While full specifications are yet to be revealed, it is clear from early leaks that Huawei Nova 16 series will arrive with significant upgrade in imaging, battery capacity and overall performance.
