Huawei has officially introduced the Huawei Mate 80 Pro in global markets at its “Now is Your Run” launch event held in Madrid. This marks the first international debut of a Mate-series smartphone since the Mate 50 Pro in 2022. The global variant of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro differs slightly from its China counterpart. While the Chinese model runs HarmonyOS 6.0, the international version ships with EMUI 15.0.

Alongside the flagship smartphone, Huawei also unveiled several other products at the event, including the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2, Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, Huawei MatePad Mini, Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5, and Huawei Band 11 Series. Huawei Mate 80 Pro – Key Features

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro features a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2832 × 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 460ppi. The panel supports an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, 1440Hz PWM dimming, up to 1.07 billion colours, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits.

Huawei has not disclosed the chipset powering the global variant. In China, the Mate 80 Pro is equipped with the Kirin 9030 Pro SoC. Globally, the handset runs EMUI 15.0, whereas the Chinese model ships with HarmonyOS 6.0. The phone is paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB onboard storage.

In the camera department, the Mate 80 Pro is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary sensor that supports a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, along with optical image stabilisation (OIS). It also includes a 40-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 48-megapixel macro telephoto lens offering 4x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.

For selfies, the device features a 13-megapixel wide-angle front camera with autofocus. Both rear and front cameras support 4K video recording.

The smartphone packs a 5,750mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging. Depending on the market, it will be offered in single-SIM and dual-SIM variants. The Mate 80 Pro is rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.

Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, dual-band GPS with NavIC support, and a USB Type-C port with USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds. The handset measures 161.85 × 76 × 7.95mm and weighs approximately 219 grams.
